Give a Child a Toy, Not a Ticket

Since 2008, CLC has partnered with the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and McGill University to promote the message that lottery tickets are not appropriate gifts for children. We also hold a corresponding toy drive and, to date, have collected and donated more than 30,000 toys to local organizations.

Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM)

CLC proudly supports and participates in PGAM every March. This effort, spearheaded by the NCPG, is designed to raise awareness about problem gambling and help foster discussions about prevention, identification, treatment and recovery.

Responsible Gaming Education Month (RGEM)

Responsible Gaming Education Month is an annual initiative each September led by the American Gaming Association to raise awareness about responsible play and provide players with tools and information to make informed gambling decisions.

CT Partnership for Responsible Gambling

The Partnership brings together CLC, DMHAS PGS, Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG) and other state stakeholders to promote education, prevention, and access to support resources.

Northeast Consortium on Problem Gambling

The Northeast Consortium on Problem Gambling is a regional partnership of state agencies, councils on problem gambling, researchers, and industry representatives working to address gambling-related harm across the northeastern United States. The consortium promotes collaboration on research, prevention strategies, education, and responsible gambling initiatives across member states.

Responsible Play The CT Way

Responsible Play The CT Way is a statewide responsible gambling initiative that brings together treatment providers and gaming operators to promote safer play and prevent gambling-related harm. Led by the CCPG, the program provides education, resources, and access to help for individuals and families.

Wise Winnings

CLC has partnered with Credit Unions Building Financial Independence (CUBFI), a non-profit organization helping people build and maintain financial independence, to create Wise Winnings – a first-of-its-kind in the country financial literacy and education program offering no-cost financial advice to CT Lottery winners. Wise Winnings provides winners with an avenue to find, and meet with, not-for-profit credit union financial counselors, certified with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), throughout the state to create an individualized guide for their money.
