How Kicker Works
- When you add Kicker, you get to play for four additional prize levels!
- Choose the Kicker option and select one additional number from 1–35 that is different from the other five numbers you selected.
- If the Kicker number you selected matches one of winning numbers drawn and you also match 1–4 of the other winning numbers drawn, you win a Cash5 + Kicker prize.

Cash5 FAQs
Quick answers to help you play with confidence.
The "Kicker" is an optional add-on feature that costs an extra $.50 per wager at the time of purchase. Adding the Kicker option to your ticket increases your opportunity to win prizes. If you added the Kicker (K) to your ticket and the Kicker (K) number on your ticket matches one of the Cash5 winning numbers drawn, and you also match 1, 2, 3, or 4 of the other winning numbers drawn, you win a Cash5 + Kicker prize. Example 1
Cash5 numbers printed on your ticket: 4-10-14-18-30 K: 12 Y
Winning Cash5 numbers drawn: 5-12-14-20-30
In this example, you won because your ticket’s Kicker number (12) matched a winning number and you also matched one of the other 5 winning numbers drawn.
Example 2
Cash5 numbers printed on your ticket: 4-10-14-18-30 K: 22 Y
Winning Cash5 numbers drawn: 5-12-14-20-30
In this example, you did not win because your ticket’s Kicker number (22) did not match a winning number and there’s no prize for matching only one of the winning numbers drawn.
The Kicker (K) number is not drawn; it is an extra number printed on every Cash5 ticket. You can choose your ticket’s Kicker number at the time of purchase or the Lottery terminal can randomly select a Kicker number for you. An active Kicker number will have a “Y” next to it. There will also be a message at the bottom of the ticket that reads KICKER ACTIVE. A Kicker number that is not active will have an “N” next to it. There will also be a message at the bottom of the ticket that reads KICKER NOT ACTIVE.
Cash5 is a "pari-mutuel" game, which means that all prize winners share equally in the available prize pool monies for that drawing. The money that is available in the prize pool is based upon daily ticket sales. If ticket sales are not sufficient, the prize pool is divided equally, top prize winners will receive less than $100,000 for their win, and all other prize levels in that game will also experience reduced payouts for that drawing.
